My name is Odysseas, though most people call me Ody.

I am a musician, an interpreter, and a linguist. I speak English, Greek, French, Italian, and Spanish. I sing, and I play the organ and the piano. Music and language have always been inseparable to me, and the parallels between the two have always been obvious.

My first contact with Italian came through opera. Coming from French, much of the vocabulary felt familiar, and I began learning the language through libretti themselves through poetic text, music, and sound.

Only later did I realise that what I had learned was not modern Italian, but the Italian of opera: elevated, rhetorical, and, as native speakers kindly put it, straight out of a time capsule. That moment shaped everything that followed.
